Some digital painting practice. I wanted to get this done quickly but I ended up taking at least 7 hours or more to get this done. OTL.
My overall feelings for this is meh. I don't think it's fantastic, but I don't think it's horrible either. This neither brings me pride or shame, which makes me kind of upset cause I feel like I wasted hours of my life over nothing. But then again I always do that so this is nothing new.
One thing I do like about this is the sky. Blending it was really hard cause my Photoshop freaks out and goes super slow whenever I try to blend anything with a large canvas. So yeah, the sky is one giant smudge (along with everything else in this).
The perspective in this is definitely off.
I didn't draw Maka's Spartoi jacket cause I didn't feel like it.
Also the Soul Eater ch 99 is out in English. This chapter was pretty boring. Just a transition chapter filled with a lot of things that didn't need to be included, like the first couple of pages at the Witch World. Those were basically a rehash of what happened in the previous chapter.
In other news I am really happy seeing the freaky giant Asura monster hallucination. It's the closest thing to seeing Asura in the past billion of chapters.
Also the plot in Soul Eater Not for this month is a lot better than Soul Eater. So much character and plot progression! And I can't even read Japanese. My opinion on the series has improved slightly.
I wouldn't be so quick to call this chapter pointless as it does answer two major questions regarding Demon Weapon origin and function.
The first question being why did Eibon even have a Demon Weapon formula to begin with and the second being why is it so important that weapons become Death Scythes and why is the Witch soul so integral for this.
